Our History

Our History

Established by Pearl Wiseman, over 27 years ago, the Wiseman Stage School has gained a reputation for excellence. Thousands of pupils have trodden the 'boards' since the school started. Many former pupils now have their children attending classes. Others have gone on to star on television and theater.

In 1997 Toni-Ley Wiseman took over the running of the school from her mother. Toni-Ley trained at the Finch Stage School in Essex and the Max Rivers Dance Studio Leicester Square. Having appeared in various stage shows across the UK Toni came back to Swansea to take over the school.

Toni quickly established herself as an innovative choreographer and dance teacher. She developed an annual show which could easily rival any west end production due to the lighting, special effects and innovative routines.

The school has developed into a major influence in the life of Swansea, pupils have appeared in theater and productions across the UK including the BBC, major rugby events (Wiseman cheerleaders) and major productions.

In 2006 Toni was joined by her sister Esther. They now run the school together continuing with the Wiseman Stage School ethos and success that was started by their mother Pearl.

The school now undertakes two major productions a year. It also offers a challenging curriculum where pupils can obtain exams and qualifications, but all within a warm and friendly environment.
